The South Cobb Regional Library will host its third Community Feeding & Clothing event on Friday, November 20. The He's Able Outreach Foundation leads the program, which provides food and clothing assistance to residents in need.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The foundation describes its mission as spreading love and belonging through shared blessings and resource assistance. A library representative stated the organization hopes to help people change their circumstances, citing the principle that the smallest help can change someone's life.
Earlier in the month, the library offers a children's craft session on Saturday, November 7. The Hand Made for the Holidays event starts at 1 p.m. and invites preschool, elementary, and tween age groups to create gifts by hand. Participants are encouraged to bring photos or mementos to include in their projects. Caregivers may need to assist children during the session.
The library schedule includes several other programming options for adults and teens. Book Bunch meets on Wednesday, November 4, at 4 p.m. The Last Word Book Discussion takes place on Thursday, November 12, at 4:30 p.m. and features a review of Vigil by George Saunders.
Film fans can attend the Dinovember Monday Movie Marathon on Monday, November 23. The screening series begins with Jurassic Park at 12 p.m., followed by The Lost World: Jurassic Park at 2:15 p.m. and Jurassic Park III at 4:30 p.m. Teen Reading Club meets on Monday, November 30, at 5:30 p.m.
The library will close on Wednesday, November 11, for Veterans Day. It will also close early at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25. The building remains closed for Thanksgiving until Saturday, November 28, when it reopens at 10 a.m.
