Charles D. Switzer Library in Marietta has installed a Teen Thankful Thought Tree to celebrate the upcoming holiday season. The display is located in the library's Teen Room and remains open to the public from November 2 through November 25. Youth are invited to write messages of gratitude, kindness, and community spirit on individual leaves and attach them to the structure.
The library states that the project offers young patrons a way to express appreciation for their own lives and the role the library has played in their schooling and development. Switzer serves as an academic hub for at least seven local middle and high schools. The library aims to help students recognize the support provided by the facility during their educational journeys.
November programming at the library includes several anchor events alongside the gratitude display. A Sci-Fi Book Club is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, at 6:30 PM. The library will observe standard holiday closures for the month. It will close on Wednesday, November 11, for Veterans Day. Additionally, the building will close early on Wednesday, November 25, at 5:00 PM. The library will remain closed through Thanksgiving until Saturday, November 28, when it will reopen at 10:00 AM.
Switzer Library is situated at 266 Roswell Street in Marietta, Georgia. The facility is part of the Cobb County Public Library System, which maintains multiple branches across the county. The library encourages residents to review its full November schedule for additional activities and event inquiries.
Kelly Johnson, a Cobb County resident since 1999 and creative writer for Chaos Studio Seven, notes that the library continues to inform and connect with the community through such seasonal initiatives. The Teen Thankful Thought Tree is the central feature of the November calendar, which spans five weeks of community engagement and educational services.
Residents can contact the library at +1 770 528 2320 for more information. The November schedule is available through the Cobb County Public Library System's newsletter and online resources. The gratitude display will be accessible during regular library hours throughout the specified dates.
