435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are up for grabs this Tuesday, Nov. 3. Voters across Cobb County and the rest of the nation will cast ballots in federal, state, and local races. The midterm elections will decide which party controls Congress for the next two years.

Republicans currently hold the majority and aim to keep it for the final stretch of President Donald Trump's second term. Democrats are working to flip both chambers to a blue majority. Thirty-six states also have governor's races on the ballot.

Several Senate races are considered too close to call. Polls describe contests in Texas, Michigan, and Alaska as toss-ups. These results will influence the balance of power in the federal government.

The Supreme Court begins its November oral argument session this week. Justices will hear seven hours of arguments spread across five days, from Nov. 2 to Nov. 10. The schedule includes a major case involving religious discrimination in education.

The case, St. Mary Catholic Parish v. Roy, is scheduled for arguments on Tuesday, Nov. 3. It examines whether excluding a Catholic preschool from Colorado's universal preschool program counts as religious discrimination. The Court's decision in this matter will shape how public funds interact with private religious schools.
