CUMMING, Ga. - Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson addressed dozens of supporters in Forsyth County on Sunday night to deliver his final message before the Tuesday general election. Jackson, a healthcare executive and political newcomer, took the stage at the rally accompanied by his wife and son, both of whom delivered remarks to the crowd. Several Georgia Republican leaders also spoke to the audience as the election entered its concluding hours.

Jackson built his campaign platform around economic relief for working families. He pledged to cut the state income tax in half and freeze property taxes across Georgia. The candidate stated that he intended to build on existing opportunities while addressing challenges that hold families back. "We will build on the things that brought opportunity here and get after the challenges still holding families back," Jackson told the gathering in Cumming.

During the speech, Jackson directly criticized his Democratic opponent, Keisha Lance Bottoms, the former Atlanta mayor. Bottoms has centered her campaign on affordability, healthcare access, and housing. Jackson argued that his opponent's time leading the city demonstrated her approach to governance. "She had a chance to lead. She had to show a chance to show what she does when people are counting on her, and we saw it," Jackson said. "We can't let her do to Georgia what she did to Atlanta because there is one simple truth. She cannot campaign her way around; bad mayors don't make good governors."

Supporters at the rally expressed confidence in Jackson's candidacy. Scott Ridling, a supporter in the audience, shared his enthusiasm for the outcome. "We're just hopeful that he can turn out a win," Ridling said. The candidates present sharply contrasting approaches to Georgia's economy and cost of living as they compete to succeed term-limited Governor Brian Kemp.

Campaign officials announced that Jackson will launch a statewide get-out-the-vote tour on Monday. The tour includes scheduled stops in Canton, Perry, Albany, Savannah, and Augusta. On Tuesday night, Jackson is scheduled to join campaign supporters in Sandy Springs to watch the election results.
