Paris Baguette, the Korean-style bakery chain, has entered the Idaho market with the opening of its first location in the state. The new store is located at The Village in Meridian.
Franchise owner Jay Kim hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday morning to mark the milestone. The shop opened to the public on Friday, offering a menu that includes sweet and savory pastries, bread, cakes, sandwiches, and coffee.
Kim stated that the process of reaching opening day took months. He said the team includes staff for both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. “I'm just excited, very, very motivated to start. You know, we have a great team of people in the back of house, front of house, and every day I'm very humbled by their work ethic and their drive,” Kim said.
The decision to select The Village was not made by default. Kim explained that the company evaluated other potential sites before choosing Meridian. He said the goal was to ensure the location served as the proper introduction for the brand in the region. “We want to ensure that it was the right location and right introduction to the people here,” Kim said.
The Village at Meridian has recently expanded its retail offerings. The Paris Baguette opening is part of that broader growth at the shopping center.
The new bakery joins the local dining scene with a focus on artisanal baked goods and coffee. The store operates under the Paris Baguette brand, which is known for its specific style of pastries and bread.
