The Atlanta Falcons will play without starting running back Brian Robinson Jr. on Sunday. Robinson is out with a hamstring injury. This will be his second consecutive game missed.
The Falcons (3-4) travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers (2-5) at 1 p.m. Sunday. The game will be held at Raymond James Stadium. The team is close to full strength otherwise. No other players have been ruled out.
Eight players are listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup. Defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. is dealing with a hamstring issue. Receiver Beaux Collins has a hip problem. Linebacker Divine Deablo is managing an injured forearm. Defensive ends Samson Ebukam and Charles Snowden are dealing with hamstring and back issues, respectively. Cornerback Avieon Terrell is listed with an illness. Offensive tackle Cameron Williams has an ankle injury. Receiver Olamide Zaccheaus is dealing with a shoulder problem.
Deablo told reporters on Thursday that he is optimistic about playing. He practiced with a 3D printed cast on his right forearm. The device provides bulky protection. Deablo said he is in a good place going into the game. He noted that the team is in the best shape it has been all season.
The Falcons' last two games were difficult. They lost by three points in Week 15. They lost by four points in Week 16. Robinson was the team's leading rusher in those games. He averaged 4.3 yards per carry. The team allowed 35 points in that stretch.
Robinson was placed on injured reserve in Week 14. He was activated two weeks later. He has been a key leader on the team since June. He also serves as a backup coach. The Falcons hope to end their losing streak on the road.
The Falcons will take the field in Tampa Bay to start a new stretch of the season. The game marks the first time they have played the Buccaneers in the new stadium. The outcome will determine their position in the NFC South.
