Braves' Olson and Dubón Claim 2026 Gold Glove Honors
The first baseman and utilityman become the second Braves duo to win in the same year since 2022, extending a decade of defensive success.

Matt Olson and Mauricio Dubón won Rawlings Gold Glove Awards on Sunday night, securing their status as the National League’s top defenders for the 2026 season.
The awards recognized Olson at first base and Dubón in the newly created utility position. Both players are 32 years old. They join a short list of active players with four such awards. Olson is the first Braves player to win four Gold Gloves.
Dubón is the first Atlanta player to capture the utility award since Rawlings introduced the category in 2022. He has won the honor three times in five years, including two wins while with the Houston Astros. He is the only multi-time winner at that position in Major League history.
The franchise has claimed 12 Gold Gloves across seven of the last nine seasons since 2018. Olson and Dubón are the first Braves duo to take home the awards in the same year since pitcher Max Fried and shortstop Dansby Swanson did so in 2022.
Voting for the awards is split between field personnel and advanced analytics. Managers and up to six coaches on each team cast ballots for 75% of the vote. They cannot select their own players. The remaining 25% relies on the SABR Defensive Index, a data-driven formula that evaluates range, arm strength, and fielding reliability.
Olson led all Major League first basemen in innings played, appearing in all 162 games. He paced the league in Outs Above Average with 12 and overall fielding run value with 12. He ranked second only to San Diego’s Ty France in Defensive Runs Saved with 11. He beat out France and Colorado’s T.J. Rumfield for the award.
Dubón started 75 games in left field, 51 at shortstop, 14 in center field, five at third base, and four at second base. He edged out other candidates to win the utility honor. The full list of National League winners also includes Nolan McLean, Gabriel Moreno, Brice Turang, Alex Bregman, Geraldo Perdomo, Jackson Chourio, Pete Crow-Armstrong, and Corbin Carroll.
