All nine dates of the upcoming Gnarls Barkley tour have been canceled, ending plans for the duo to perform in Atlanta next month. The cancellation, confirmed on Ticketmaster on Friday, October 30, includes the November 10 concert scheduled at the Coca-Cola Roxy. The tour was originally planned to promote the group's recent album, "Atlanta."
The band formed in 2002, consisting of rapper CeeLo Green and producer Andrew Wyatt. They released their debut album, "St. Elsewhere," in March of that year. The record earned two Grammy nominations. Since then, the duo has not recorded a new album together, though they have performed select live shows.
The tour was set to begin in late October. The first date, scheduled for November 5 at the Fox Theatre in Oakland, California, was the initial stop. Subsequent dates were planned for New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and other cities. The Atlanta show was the final date on the itinerary.
Ticketmaster posted a message to ticket holders stating that the event organizer had to cancel the events. The platform noted that customers did not need to take any action to receive their money. Refunds are being issued to the original method of payment used at the time of purchase. The message added that the process would begin as soon as funds were received from the event organizer.
Andrew Wyatt shared a statement on social media regarding the decision. He said, "It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of our upcoming tour." Wyatt explained that the duo wanted to ensure the best possible experience for fans. He noted that the group had been working on the tour for several months. "We wanted to do this right," Wyatt wrote.
CeeLo Green also commented on the cancellation. He stated, "We are so sad to cancel our tour, but we want to make sure we are 100% ready to hit the road." Green added that the duo has been preparing for these shows for a long time. "We will be back soon," he said, promising future performances.
The Atlanta stop was part of a larger series of shows that included the Fox Theatre, the Beacon Theatre in New York, and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Ticket holders for all nine canceled dates are eligible for refunds. The Ticketmaster website now lists the events as canceled with a refund status.
