Kamarui Dorsey scored three touchdowns to guide Hampton to a 41-34 victory over Woodland of Stockbridge on Monday night. The senior, who is committed to Texas A&M, rushed for 105 yards on the ground. He also returned a kickoff 85 yards for a score in the second half.
Hampton trailed 14-0 early in the game before mounting a comeback. Dorsey provided the decisive play with a 2-yard run with 10 seconds remaining. That score broke a 34-34 tie and gave the Hawks the lead.
Dorsey contributed on defense as well, recording seven tackles. He forced a fumble that Hampton recovered on its own 2-yard line. The stop prevented Woodland from scoring and preserved the lead.
Coach Alasha Hampton praised Dorsey’s versatility in the postgame press conference. “He can do it all, and he’s a little bit better than everyone else in that position,” Hampton said. “He’s just making a lot of noise, and he’s not afraid of any of the other players he’s going up against, but he could do a lot more, I think.”
Dorsey, listed as a 5-star safety prospect, played a central role in the Hawks' offensive and defensive efforts. The win improved Hampton’s season record and highlighted its ability to overcome early deficits. Woodland finished with 34 points in the contest.
