Cobb County election officials are mailing replacement absentee ballots by overnight service to a limited number of voters who have not received ballots issued between Oct. 7 and Oct. 15, the Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration said Wednesday, Oct. 28. The delays are linked to Fort Orange Press, the county's third-party vendor for absentee ballots.
Voters who believe their ballot has not arrived can call the elections board at 770-528-2581 to report the missing ballot. Staff will verify the delay, after which the voter signs an affidavit canceling the original ballot. Officials said only the voter can cancel an issued ballot, not a relative. Once the cancellation is confirmed, the board will send a replacement absentee ballot by overnight mail with a prepaid return envelope.
The board said it will not send replacement ballots to voters who already have the original ballot in hand as of Wednesday, Oct. 28, whether returned or not; voters who have already cast a ballot by another method; or voters who have already canceled an issued ballot.
Absentee ballots must reach the Cobb County Elections Office at 995 Roswell St. NE in Marietta by 7 p.m. Tuesday to be counted in the 2026 general election, which will determine Georgia's next governor. Officials said no extension will be granted for Election Day returns.
Early voting in the general election runs through Friday, Oct. 30. The Nov. 3 ballot includes the race for governor and a U.S. Senate seat.
