TSA agents identified three distinct blades hidden in a carry-on bag at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The items, described as resembling a mix of Wolverine claws and Freddy Krueger blades, were spotted on an X-ray screen. Officers removed the prohibited accessories from the luggage and secured them at the security checkpoint.

Douglas Linn, a TSA officer, noticed the unusual shape in the X-ray images. He stated that he saw three blades and distinct claw-like features. Linn said he had never seen such an item during his two years with the agency. He described feeling amazed when the physical objects matched the digital images.

Dennis Oishi, the property search officer, conducted the physical search of the bag. He confirmed the presence of the sharp items and handled the situation during routine checkpoint operations. The passenger did not initially recall the contents of the bag but remembered the items once Oishi removed them. The traveler voluntarily abandoned the claws at the checkpoint.

Ann Rhoades, a supervisory TSA officer with seven years of experience, called the item one of the most unusual she has encountered. She noted that the passenger was unsure if there were any sharp objects in the bag when asked. Rhoades observed that the passenger admitted to not being certain, despite the obvious presence of the blades.

The Transportation Security Administration reported the incident as a standard interception of a suspicious carry-on item. The agency confirmed that the item required additional attention due to its sharp features. The passenger continued through the screening process after surrendering the accessories.

The event occurred at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, a major hub in the Pacific Northwest. TSA officials emphasized that such items are generally better suited for movie screens than airplane cabins. The confiscation followed standard procedures for prohibited carry-on objects.
