Tammy Bishop is searching for the wedding band her husband, Will Mulroy, lost on the Las Vegas Strip the night they married. Mulroy died Oct. 23, three days after their Oct. 20 ceremony at the Viva Las Vegas Chapel.
The couple traveled to Las Vegas for the wedding after Mulroy told Bishop on her Oct. 4 birthday that he had booked the event and invited her friends. The bride and groom prepared separately. Mulroy first saw Bishop in her dress when she walked out to the party bus. The wedding party toured the Strip on the bus and stopped at a bar.
Bishop said Mulroy's band slipped off that night. "He looked down and his band was gone. He lost it. He started crying," Bishop said. She said Mulroy told her the ring was two sizes too large because he had lost weight. Bishop said it may have come off on the bus, when he moved into his wheelchair, or as he rolled down the Strip. "We backtracked our steps. We told the bus driver. We had everyone looking. We couldn't find it," she said.
The next day, Bishop joked with Mulroy that he had not worn the ring for 24 hours before losing it. Mulroy was in pain on the flight home to South Dakota and mentioned going to the emergency room once they landed. The following morning, Bishop said she could not wake him, called 911, and doctors declared him brain dead at the hospital. He remained on life support for 24 hours. Bishop said his heart stopped three times in the ER.
The couple met in July 2023 and began dating in March 2024. A week later, Mulroy was in a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed. He continued to ask Bishop to marry him, and she accepted this summer. Mulroy worked at Fleet Farm and had worked with party buses previously; the couple had planned to start their own party bus business.
Bishop said she hopes a stranger finds the band. "It would mean a lot. The rings were blessed, and that was our wedding ring, and that was him and how much it meant to him. That's why it means so much to me," she said.
