Russell Brand and his wife, Laura Gallacher, have both testified in the London criminal trial against the 51-year-old actor. The proceedings began on October 12, and both parties appeared before the jury this week. Brand took the stand on October 28, while Gallacher followed on October 29.

Brand faces seven charges filed by six women. The allegations cover incidents that allegedly occurred between 1999 and 2009. The specific counts include three violations of rape, three instances of sexual assault, and one count of attempted sexual assault. The London prosecution has labeled the former comedian a ruthless sexual predator.

During his testimony, Brand denied all accusations. He admitted to the jury that his past behavior was erroneous in retrospect. He stated that as he became more successful and famous, he felt comfortable allowing that status to ease sexual access. He acknowledged that this approach was a mistake.

Brand also described himself as a decisive and focused man. He told the court that with women, he has been persuasive, seductive, suppliant, and coquettish. He noted that he has dedicated much of his life to what now appears to go beyond imprudence, infidelity, and foolishness.

Gallacher, who married Brand in 2017, presented a different view of his character. The couple has three children. She described him as an incredible husband and a wonderful father. According to a report by Sky News, she declared that they have a very honest, frank, and clear relationship.

She emphasized that their marriage has always been based on honesty. The trial continues with further witness testimonies scheduled for the coming days. The jury is currently listening to the defense and prosecution present their respective cases in the High Court in London.
