Marietta Power received a Public Power Customer Satisfaction Award on November 2 from the American Public Power Association. The utility earned the bronze-level recognition for its service to the Marietta community.

APPA selects winners based on customer survey results. The evaluation process measures performance in eight specific areas: customer service, field personnel, communication, reliability, value, outage response, innovation, and overall satisfaction. Marietta Power qualified for the bronze award by maintaining an average satisfaction rating above 80 percent across all eight categories.

Ron Mull, General Manager of the Marietta Board of Lights and Water, stated that the utility’s primary focus is providing reliable public power and high-quality service. “This recognition reflects the work our employees do every day to serve the Marietta community, and we appreciate our customers for recognizing those efforts,” Mull said.

The American Public Power Association represents not-for-profit, community-owned utilities. The organization serves approximately 2,000 towns and cities across the United States. Public power utilities collectively serve more than 55 million people and employ 100,000 workers. APPA advocates for these utilities before the federal government and advises on electricity policy, technology, and operations.

Marietta Power is part of the Marietta Board of Lights and Water. The board manages the city’s electrical and water infrastructure. The award adds to the utility’s record of performance in national surveys. APPA continues to issue these awards to public power entities that demonstrate consistent service quality.

The association provides resources and advocacy for the public power sector. It aims to protect the interests of the communities served by these non-profit utilities. The bronze award distinguishes Marietta Power from other utilities that received gold or silver designations. The recognition is valid for the current reporting period.
