A Georgia state representative filed a police report after receiving an online message she said targeted her family. Rep. Noelle Kahaian, who represents the 81st House District in Henry County, contacted law enforcement to document the incident. She described the post as an unacceptable act by a candidate for public office.
Kahaian said the message came from Mishael White. She stated that White needed to issue a public apology for the content of the post. "Mishael White was way over the line, and he needs to issue a public apology," Kahaian wrote in a statement. FOX 5 Atlanta has reached out to White for comment.
The representative warned that heated political rhetoric can lead to real-world attacks on elected officials. She pointed to recent incidents in Georgia, including death threats against Rep. Mike Collins and swatting calls that put families and law enforcement at risk. "This election cycle we’ve had people make death threats against candidates like Mike Collins and swatting calls that endanger families and law enforcement," she said. She added that the post was stoking the fire of political violence.
Kahaian began serving in the Georgia House of Representatives after working as a small business owner and community advocate. Her official biography lists faith, family, freedom, and government accountability as the centers of her public service.
Authorities have not named the specific law enforcement agency handling the case. Officials have also not confirmed whether charges have been filed. The information in this report comes from a public statement posted by Kahaian and her legislative website.
