The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested Ahmed Shengeb, 30, of Roswell on Friday. State law enforcement officers charged him with six counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children and booked him into the DeKalb County Jail.
The investigation began in May 2025 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children sent a CyberTip to the GBI's Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit. Investigators said the tip indicated the potential online possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
The GBI's Atlanta Regional Investigative Office in Conyers worked alongside the Roswell Police Department to conduct the probe. State officials confirmed that the arrest followed the tip and subsequent investigative steps.
Authorities have not released specific bond amounts or a date for Shengeb's next court appearance. Officials also have not disclosed whether investigators identified additional suspects or victims in connection with the case.
The GBI CEACC Unit is asking the public to contact them at 404-270-8870 with information regarding other child exploitation cases. People can also submit tips through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipline at Cybertipline.org. Anonymous tips are accepted by calling 1-800-597-TIPS (8477), visiting the GBI website, or using the See Something, Send Something mobile application.
