Michael Penix Jr. completed zero of his first six pass attempts during the Atlanta Falcons' 31-41 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Madrid.

The Falcons' starting quarterback threw for 141 yards and no touchdowns in the contest, which took place Sunday. That performance marked the worst game of his NFL career. He spent the ride home, a night of sleep, and a Monday afternoon film session reviewing the footage. Head coach Raheim Breen noted that the staff ran through the same scenarios during practice. They wanted to ensure Penix could see the plays and understand the corrections needed for the next game.

Penix admitted the game was difficult to watch back. He said he did not really want to watch it, but he had to correct things that needed correcting. "So, spent that next day doing our correcting and then after that, it was, 'We're moving onto Cincy,'" Penix said Thursday. He emphasized that the team is not looking back. They are looking forward to the next opponent.

The Falcons travel to Cincinnati this week to face the Bengals. The game is scheduled for Sunday. Penix said the team is ready for that matchup. He described the Bengals as a good team with a great offense. He noted that the Falcons will need to be physical and play hard to compete.

Quarterback coach David Culley said the staff helped Penix understand where he was in the game. Culley noted that Penix had a great go, a game he felt he could have come back and done a better job. "I've even had a great game and come back and done a better job," Culley said. "So, I'm like, 'Yeah, let's just keep it that way.'"

Penix said he is not worried about the loss. He said he is more concerned with what comes next. He noted that he has different teammates and a different staff now. He said he is better after the loss. He said he is ready for that matchup.
