The search for Amy Mitchell, played by Ellie Dadd, consumed the entire night for two of the show's central figures. Sean Slater, portrayed by Rob Kazinsky, and Jack Branning, played by Scott Maslen, spent the last 12 hours combing the streets of Walford for the missing young woman. Their efforts concluded with a return to the family home in the upcoming episodes, where they will deliver an update to Amy's relatives.
Amy vanished earlier this week to join Craig Ingram, a police officer played by Matthew James Bailey. Ingram has been grooming Amy into believing they share a romantic relationship. While the search party focuses on the immediate area, evidence suggests Amy is currently staying in a bedsit with Ingram. The setting reveals a growing tension between the two, with Amy appearing nervous in Ingram's presence.
The discovery of a secret online bank account changed the dynamic of the search. Lily Slater, played by Lillia Turner, informed the group in the pub that Amy used Charli's tablet to open the account. The family decided to pass this information to the police. This action froze the account, a move that triggered a physical reaction from Ingram. Upon realizing his funds were inaccessible, he struck Amy.
Tensions also rose within the Branning household regarding finances. Sean and Jack discovered that Max Branning, played by Jake Wood, had given Amy her inheritance money. This revelation led to an argument between the three men. While the family processes this internal conflict, Sean devised a new strategy to locate Amy. He proposed that Denise Fox, played by Diane Parish, record a video appeal to lure Amy back to Walford.
Rob Kazinsky, who portrays Sean Slater, discussed his return to the role. He noted that stepping back into the character feels safe and exciting simultaneously. Kazinsky stated that he has never lost his connection with the role, which he has played since he was young. He described Sean as deeply human and the character he is most protective of.
The next episodes will show the family executing the video appeal plan. Meanwhile, Craig Ingram is arranging a place for the pair to stay abroad. The narrative will focus on whether the video plea is sufficient to bring Amy home before Ingram takes her away.
Kazinsky added that wearing Sean's clothes again felt wholly right. He cited Sean's ability to conquer his demons if he loves someone enough as a key reason for his attachment to the role.
