Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley told reporters on Sunday night that he intends to remain with the team. The comments came immediately after a 27-10 defeat by the Washington Commanders at Landover, Maryland.

Barkley addressed the growing trade rumors directly. He stated, "I would love to be here. I plan on being here." He noted that while he dislikes the season's trajectory, he does not want to jump ship. He described himself as someone who prefers to be part of the solution to the problem.

The Eagles currently sit in last place in the NFC East with a 2-6 record. One game remains before the November 10 trade deadline. The team hosts the division-leading New York Giants next Sunday. Injuries have complicated the roster, including a setback for quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Barkley played a limited role on Sunday due to hamstring and back issues. He recorded 14 touches for 54 yards and one touchdown. In his third season with Philadelphia, he has rushed for 274 yards on 56 carries for two touchdowns. He has also caught seven passes for 41 yards.

The Eagles recently traded offensive lineman Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens for two draft picks. That move has opened the door for further personnel changes. Barkley maintains his focus on staying in Philadelphia and helping the team improve.
