The west plaza at the MARTA Indian Creek station will close to the public on Nov. 23 for a four-month renovation period. The transit agency announced the schedule on Tuesday, identifying this as the final stage of work at the facility. Rail and bus services will run on their normal timetables during the closure.
Passengers will need to enter the station through the east entrance, which is located near the bus loop. ADA parking spaces currently near the Kiss & Ride area will move to the east side of the parking lot. This relocation is designed to provide the shortest accessible path for customers during the construction window.
The pedestrian bridge connecting to Durham Park Road will remain open. However, the west faregates will only be accessible from that bridge. There will be no direct access to the parking lot from the west faregates while work is underway. MARTA will install detour signs and may restrict parts of the west parking lot to guide riders toward the new routes.
Earlier this year, the agency completed renovations on a different section of the plaza. The upcoming work aims to finish specific safety and accessibility improvements. The project operates under MARTA’s Station Rehabilitation Project, a program intended to modernize all 38 rail stations in the system.
The closure is set to begin in three weeks from the announcement date. Riders should plan their routes using the east entrance and the pedestrian bridge to avoid blocked areas at the station.
