Christian Bratton has opened Healing Wealth, a financial planning practice in Cobb County designed specifically for nurses and other healthcare professionals. Bratton, a Certified Financial Planner and former critical care nurse, built the firm to address financial gaps he observed during his career change.
Bratton worked as a critical care nurse for eight years before moving into financial services. He stated that the industry often neglects nurses because standard planning models assume a predictable nine-to-five career path. Healthcare workers, however, face rotating schedules, burnout risk, and frequent career pivots.
"While transitioning from nursing to financial services, I realized how big the financial planning industry is, but that nurses are being neglected by it," Bratton said. He added that Healing Wealth exists so professionals do not have to make major money decisions alone or force their lives into advice not designed for their schedules.
The practice treats career decisions in healthcare as financial decisions. Clients can consult with Bratton before choosing paths such as a Master of Science in Nursing, a Doctor of Nursing Practice, or a move into travel nursing. The firm helps clients understand the financial implications of these educational and career steps.
Healing Wealth offers three levels of ongoing planning matched to different stages of a healthcare career. Financial Stability Care serves early-career professionals. It focuses on education debt strategies, capturing employer retirement matches, and building emergency funds. It also evaluates the return on certifications and career moves.
Financial Resilience Planning targets mid-career professionals. This tier covers advanced-degree analysis, retirement projections, and portfolio oversight. It includes Roth conversion strategy and closing insurance gaps. Financial Stewardship serves senior healthcare leaders and practice owners. It includes tax planning, estate and wealth-transfer planning, and practice succession planning.
The firm serves registered nurses, nurse practitioners, certified registered nurse anesthetists, travel nurses, and healthcare leaders. Bratton previously worked in a compliance role supporting a large national group of financial advisors. He said that experience shapes the firm’s focus on clear and transparent guidance.
"Nurses carry so much for everyone else," Bratton said. "My goal is to give them a plan that still holds up on the days they’re too exhausted to think about money, so they can focus on their careers, their families and their own well-being." Meetings are available virtually. Healthcare professionals can schedule a complimentary consultation at healingwealth.com or call 770-268-3223.
