Brallan Martinez, a 25-year-old resident of Coweta County, Georgia, will serve 25 years in state prison for the sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl. Prosecutors announced the sentence after Martinez entered a negotiated guilty plea to multiple felony charges. The victim lived in a different area of metro Atlanta, while Martinez resided in Coweta County.
The incident began when Martinez contacted the girl through the Snapchat application. Court records indicate he knew her age when he initiated the friendship. Investigators later found a video of the abuse on his mobile phone. The abuse occurred over a three-month period during 2024.
Martinez faced five felony counts in this case. These charges included enticing a child for indecent purposes, statutory rape, child molestation, aggravated child molestation, and sexual exploitation of children. He pleaded guilty to all five counts. The Coweta County Sheriff's Office arrested him in 2024 following the discovery of the recorded evidence.
Martinez remained in custody at the Coweta County Jail for nearly two years before his trial concluded. He was held without bond during this period. A judge recently sentenced him to 25 years in the Georgia Department of Corrections. The court granted him credit for the time he already spent in jail.
Upon his eventual release, Martinez must register as a sex offender. He will also serve lifetime probation and remain under state monitoring. The Coweta County Sheriff's Office has not disclosed whether other victims were targeted online. Deputies have previously expressed concerns that additional victims may exist.
Martinez will transfer from the Coweta County Jail to the Georgia Department of Corrections to begin serving his sentence. The court imposed the terms of his release based on his guilty plea and the evidence presented in court records.
