Strand Theatre tickets start at $27 for live radio play

The Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre in Marietta has set its minimum ticket price at $27 for the upcoming production of It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. The show runs from November 6 to November 22, 2026, at the venue located at 117 North Park Square.

The stage adaptation reinterprets Frank Capra’s 1946 film by presenting the story of George Bailey as a live 1940s radio broadcast. The production features a talented ensemble that shifts between dozens of characters throughout the performance. Live sound effects accompany the dialogue to simulate the audio experience of the era.

Manda Costoulas, the General Manager of The Strand, described the production as a fresh way to experience the classic story. She noted that the show combines nostalgia with live performance and the magic of storytelling. Costoulas called it a heartfelt reminder of the difference one person can make.

The theater uses vintage microphones and live foley effects to create the atmosphere of a classic radio studio. The narrative follows the familiar journey through Bedford Falls, relying on imagination and humor rather than traditional set pieces. The format requires the audience to engage with the story through sound and acting rather than visual spectacle.

Tickets for the show are currently on sale at strandmarietta.org. Prices range from $27 to $42.
