A Buckeye resident testified in court on Wednesday to defend her fiancé against charges that he orchestrated a home invasion in Arizona last month. The victim, who was assaulted on October 16, disputed police evidence linking her partner, 23-year-old Zarian Dyer, to the crime.

Police state that Dyer plotted the attack with 20-year-old Adrian Ayala using the social media platform Reddit. Court records indicate Dyer provided Ayala with specific instructions on when to arrive, where to park, and how to enter the house. A prosecutor alleged Dyer wanted Ayala to video call him during the incident. The woman told the judge that Dyer did not consent to the entry.

“My partner was forced to deal with false accusations fabricated by the defendant during his frantic attempt to make excuses,” the woman said in court. She referred to Ayala, who claimed Dyer sent him the messages.

The victim recounted the moment she realized a stranger was in her home. “My security sensor alerted me that my front door was opening,” she told the judge. “Assuming it was my partner returning from bringing in groceries, my daughter and I walked to the door to assist him. Instead, I found a stranger at my door.” She said Ayala asked to use her restroom, and after she refused, he entered and attacked her.

Ayala is also accused of kicking the woman's 17-month-old daughter. He was arrested on October 17 and has entered not guilty pleas to five counts. A judge kept him out of custody with a no-contact order. Dyer remains in custody with a bond of $500,000.

The woman described losing income and facing eviction since the arrests. She broke down in tears while explaining the events of the attack to the court.
