Tijuana security officials reported finding a woman matching the description of Shayna Feinman on Oct. 23. The 35-year-old was last seen in Arizona in March 2024. Mexican authorities stated the woman was located in an Encino neighborhood after residents reported seeing her. Officials said the individual was confirmed to be Feinman by the local security force.
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies have not independently verified the identity. They cited insufficient evidence to confirm the woman is the person who vanished in 2024. Feinman’s sister, Kara, said she did not recognize the person in the photos from Mexico. Kara stated the family lacks hard proof that the woman is her sister.
Kara noted that reports of Feinman being spotted are not new. She called the pattern of unverified claims disheartening for the family. Tijuana officials have moved the woman to a safe location. The woman is waiting for contact from the Feinman family and U.S. authorities. No details have been released about how she arrived in Mexico.
Feinman disappeared on March 9, 2024, while walking to a friend’s house. Two men were arrested in connection with the case in 2024. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the new developments. Deputies are reviewing the information provided by Mexican officials before making further statements.
